where exactly did you get them from?

All NX2Ks were made in Japan. It's just the NX upgrade? Correct? Does the calipers have a AD22 stamp on them?

Yup, make sure the caliper says AD22VF somewhere on 'em, but likely that's whatcha have. Stock nx rotors work just fine for street use; Matt (madmatt on here) at Carbotech in fact uses stock rotors for his racing. If you're serious about this for street (other pads better suited to racing, talk to him about the Bobcat ceramic pads (also excellent for autox). They are hands down, no contest, nothing else even comes remotely close the best street pads I've ever used in my 45 years of driving.
Just a subtle recommendation - - - -

I also got the braded lines and slotted /cross drilled roters and I am deff gona upgrade the pads . I also got the 10.1 in jap mfd rear roter and maxima rear callipers . and they do say ad22vf btw . I special orderd em from napa .

ouch man, I could have easily gotten them to you shipped for like 140-150. Maybe even cheaper.

$20 splits hairs. I used Advance Auto pieces; of the four I had to take one back; handy thing is they were overnight and right there. As is NAPA. Wished I'd a done the rear upgrade as I have more front bias than I'd like; pls let me know how the bigger rears work for you; I may go there even *** it'll cost me a bundle - including Matt's Bobcats, which I will not ever live without again.

The 250x18 are the AD18VE's found on the SE-R. Slotted and cross drilled rotors are a waste of money but hey. I bought my rotors from Matt @ Carbotech, $15 each when I bought the bobcats, which were $102. I just got done putting them on and I'm going out right now to bed them. Tomorrow will be my 4th auto-x this season, but my first with the VE in and the new brakes on. Should be fun. Anyway, congrats on the new brakes, you'll love em. Might want to look into some braided hoses as well, they make a huge difference in brake response. Of all the money I've spent on my car, AD22's and Crown hoses are the best things I've done.

where are you gitting the bobcat pads from ?

jerryeads

Bobcats come from Carbotech.com, which is where Matt (maddmatt here) works. Unless you live on the autobahn in Germany or are track racing, you could have passed on the rotor expense, but they WILL look cool in there.
Rob, where do the Crown hoses come from? It's time for me to do that. You are not gonna believe these pads. Cook 'em just like the directions say.

Well as long as we're just kind of b.s.'ing about brakes. The NX2K brake system is my next upgrade, no doubt. Well, after I get the parts that I'm currently collecting installed on the car.

Wished I'd a done the rear upgrade as I have more front bias than I'd like; pls let me know how the bigger rears work for you; I may go there even *** it'll cost me a bundle - including Matt's Bobcats, which I will not ever live without again.
I had already figured on fronts, including the SS lines and calling Matt at Carbotech. The "option" that I keep on pondering is doing the Maxima rear upgrade as well, and whether the rears upgrade is worth the money for a daily driver (that will see autocross duty if my work schedule changes.) :melonscratcher:

Jerry - Interesting to see that you would like to have the rear upgrade as well. Would it be easier/cheaper to install a proportioning valve to get the right bias with your current set-up?

Rob - With all due respect, you are a technical freak my friend. I'd love to hear your impression of the front upgrade (pads/lines included) only. Further, after rigorous testing/thrashing of the brakes, if you will opt to upgrade the rears as well. Ie....will you end up agreeing with Jerry?

As usual, I want the maximum bang for the buck. I will spend the money to do something right, but I bought the car for inexpensive fun thirteen years ago and that still holds true today.

So....do I need/want the rears (worth the money, daily driver) with the upgrade?

Would a proportioning valve be a good idea without doing the rears?

Hell, it only took me sixteen months to buy and install my suspension. I figure I could get the brakes done in a blindingly fast twelve months. ;)

Man after my own heart, Shawn. Biggest example - got my ve from Dre last June, I think, maybe July; started install TG weekend, finished at the end of Feb. Uck. And yes, I too still have parts on the shelf, sigh.
YES, a proportioning valve if I understood things or can find somebody who's been here done this would be a fine solution; the rear does NOT need bigger brakes, it just needs to work what's back there a bit harder so the monster ad22vf's don't lock up so much sooner. The other side of that coin is that Matt (Carbotech) uses ad22vf, stock rears, and stock MC and is just fine on the track with that setup. I've HEARD that one can swap the proportioning valve on the front of the mc, but I simply do not know enough to play in this situation.
Been putting together a list of stuff for Greg; I'll add the Crown lines to it - Thanx Chris.

Autozone FTW. There's a 30 page thread from last year on the AZ loaded calipers. I had a pair on my last SE-R. The pads are ok too, ceramic iirc.
