Have they worked those out to where pieces of the bypass valve don't end up in the engine?

I dont know why AEM insists that this does not work on our cars.. The fact that you do not have to Cut the Piping do to the Maf should be a seller. I know many people who have hondas and other cars who are not welling to cut there 200 + dollar piping.
I think they should really look at what they are saying. The fact the Mention these By pass valves are universal is enough to push the fact. The main thing is to find out were to place the valve. They sell them in 3 different diameters to fit all there tubing and most CAI tubing.
So it's beyond me why they dont come out and say it!

I not really sure what yout talking about. I was not aware of these breaking and going into the engine. From what I can tell you... they dont construct these to be cheap. I'm not sure were you heard this but that is a good question if they are doing that!

Not long after they were introduced, they had some trouble with the inner valve flaps coming undone and ending up in the intake manifold. As far as I know this was limited to a certain production run; I haven't heard about it in a long time, but then no one around here has brought it up either. I just wondered if anyone had heard more about it. They've obviously changed the design some - the last pic I saw didn't have that foam outer sheath.

The issue has been corrected per a voluntary recall by AEM.

Someone call AEM and ask if that will effect performance and the MAF readings. I am interested in hearing a response. I am no longer calling long distance, sorry.

I'm on the phone with them NOW..,.. on hold thats..
Here it goes..
AEM Tech : Hello Aem.
Me : Yes, hello. I have questions regarding your AEM By Pass Valves.
AEM Tech : Ok, shoot away.
ME : Ok. well you all claim not to have applications for the SR20DE Engines. You sell 3 different types of valves which have different Diameters.
AEM Tech : yes we do.
ME : Ok.. so... I along with other Nissan owners who have the SR20 would like to know a few things.
AEM Tech : Sure what would that be...
ME : well your By Pass Valves do fit and work in our cars. So one. How come you do not advertise this?
AEM Tech : Hmmmm... I'm not too sure.. Um... Ok.. I think we do.
ME : OH ok.. well you dont.
AEM Tech : Yeah I dont see any for that motor.
ME : ok well question 2. The by pass vlalve can fit right before the MAF. So we are able to connect it to the Maf. Then the down pipe on the cold induction piping. So will this in any way mess up MAF Readings In general.
AEM Tech : Umm.. good question... yeah... um.. let me pass you one to a Engineer.
LMAO
So I left him a msg to call me back.. this is getting good!!! Real Good.. LOL

I was told that it would affect performance and also it is not offered for the AEM for the SR20 because there was no room for it. Different excuses from different persons. Keep these questions in mind and call back b/c they may not call back. Someone here said their car ran like shit with it but so did my NX with a CAi at first. Not now. Keep us posted cause i am interested.
ahhhhhhhhh!!! Yeeeesssssss!!! My first picture of Cloud 9!!! Now go polish some stuff! ;)
Glad its all worked out for you Oatis!
