Am I the only one who gets a sore ass and thighs after driving around in my 91 Se-R. I feel this metal support seat bracket digging into my thighs.

Anybody else suffer from this? (I'm not overweight by the way).
What aftermarket seats do you guys recommend?
I might have to go that route.

TIA

I drive 6+ hours every once in a while from school back home, and I have no problems. I like these seats, they are hard, but no problems here.

My back gets sore after a long trip. Could be the suspension or I'm just getting old.

The problem is that the metal frame is supposed to be surrounded by a foam support....after a while though, the foam will end up getting cut by the metal frame, and will poke at your thighs, and my back...it just means that it's time to replace the seats :) I have the same problem, but I'm getting sparcos, so that will go away soon.

Where? How much? What model Sparco? Seat mounts?

Thanks

How do aftermarket seats compare to the stock Classic SE-R seats? Anybody ever had both to be able to compare them?

[quote] is there a kit to replace the lower bolsterin?? [quote]

I ordered the lower seat cover from Nissan thinking the foam would come with it. No such luck. I had the parts manager do a complete search of the parts list, but he found nothing. It doesn't make any sense to have the seat cover replacement but no padding. Most SE-R owners with this problem could easily fix it by simply replacing the padding without having to replace the fabric because it usually holds up longer.

Somebody with a connection needs to look into this matter!

seriously, my bolster was worn out by the rather thick legged woman that owned my car. I am gonna drop by some upholstry shops in East LA and see what they can do, I heard some shops will rebuild the bolster for like 75 bucks.

I once had a rather thick legged woman wear out my "bolster" ... but she didn't own my car.

My padding is shot too. Maybe a crafts store had padding.

As a former Nissan Mechanic at a dealership, ill let you in on this. There is a kit that replaces the entire bottom half of the seat. Includes cover, foam, brackets and all. However, you could almost put sparco's or your preference in there for that type of money. A bit over 350 each at my former employer here in KY.
