has anyone done a 91 intake cam w/ cam gears lin a late sr20
what gains and what cam timing did you use

there really isn't much hp to be gained from adjustable cam gears on a 91 cam. even on some of the bigger JWT or JUN cams you might see a couple hp. nice ride, BTW.

I gained 8.2 hp with a 91 intake cam at 15 degree timing...

Place Racing CAI
Greddy SP exhaust
HotShot headers
UR 4 pulley set
ACT PP with street disk
Lightened flywheel

I can post a dyno sheet of before and after on the same day of dyno tests with stock 96 cam and 91 cam...

why don't you list your cam gears as a mod? do you mean adjusting the timing of the car to 15*?

I've read that using cam gears on stock cams to increase over lap is good for a hp boost. stillen shows a 6 hp boost in there catalog on stock cams and a 91 cam is good for 8 hp i was wondering the results of the two combined. I was thing of trying this since i'm not interested in spending huge amounts on cams.

That proves my point i don't want to do them with aftermarket cams I don't want aftermarket cam. I want to try it with a factory 91 intake cam on a 99 g20t. so i want to change to a 91 cam and advance it 2 or 3 degrees and may be retard the exaust a degree

did you have anything done other than the cam swap, i.e. cam gears?

I had a JWT POP, and Stillen muffler at the time.

that looks like a good gain. i have the cam also. although i don't think i gained 8hp. it just doesn't feel like it.
