: how much is this worth?
NismoSER 04-03-2002, 09:17 PM How much would a '93 NX2K with a good body and trans, but no engine be worth? I found one locally that's asking $1000, I was thinking of offering 7-800 depending on what it looks like when I actually see it.
If i can talk my dad into storing it for me, it would make a great project car
BORNGEARHEAD 04-03-2002, 09:34 PM BUY IT!!!!
MauiBlueGride 04-03-2002, 09:40 PM Frkin' ey man - buy it buy it buy it....
Chris
NismoSER 04-03-2002, 09:44 PM I got clearance from the father figure to store it in the garage, and financial help from the girlfriend and my best friend to put towards a motor.....
now just waiting for the morning to roll around so i can make sure the car is still there.....
any ideas, anyone on how little i could get this car for?
MauiBlueGride 04-03-2002, 10:31 PM I'd say even if they won't budge on the $1000, look at it this way...
A '93 NX2000 in good shape is worth $4500+
If you get the car for $1000, and buy a motor from someone like JGYcustoms.com or where ever, for say around $500 and maybe some more for shipping.... you could have a kick ass car for $1500.
If you wanted to get crazy you could:
1. Tune up while dropping a new motor
2. New clutch/resurface flywheel
3. New tires all around
4. New brakes all around (assuming they are worn)
5. Nice new CD player in it lol
The car + motor + extra goodies and you'd still have less than $2500 in it - you can't beat that for reliable, fun, fast transportation....
Then again you could sell it to me lol

ThomasSr20 04-04-2002, 01:32 AM I'm on my way to NJ right now if u are not buying it.
Man i will just buy it for a $1000, it can't get no lower than that.
Cjburn 04-04-2002, 09:06 AM I bought my 1993 NX2000 with a blown motor for $1000. It has absolutely NO rust anywhere and it's been in no previous accidents. I've already put a new door on it (same price as window that was broken, but had no door dings), motor, clutch, belts, axles, water temp sensor, and it still needs a front spoiler and tires. I still think it's a great price for a project car. It's such a rare car, people are always staring wondering what the hell it is. Plus it's just awesome to pull the T's off and just cruise. BUY the car, do it now.
NismoSER 04-04-2002, 10:23 AM Update:
I called the number, all I got was a voicemail. I left a message, hopefully I hear from them today!! :)
especse_r 04-04-2002, 07:42 PM I had an egg before, but my dad totalled it... it was a great car and i had lotsa fun driving it. If i were you take that egg bro. You would not regret it
later
NismoSER 04-04-2002, 07:49 PM Well, here's the deal:
The car has 170K miles, original clutch, new tires, perfect body and paint (or as close to perfect as a 9 year old car can be). The problem is there is a crack in the head (I think...the girl said she that sounds like what the mechanic said) and that it overheats.
I was gonna take a look at it, give her the money, do the A/C fuse trick from se-r.net and drive it home. Hopefully it makes it..if not, AAA will be on the way.
However, the plan is that after we throw a new engine in there, my girlfriend is gonna buy the car off of us. Our attempt to swap the engine is gonna be our judgment test to see if we are as mechanically inclined as we hope we could be :D
especse_r 04-04-2002, 08:05 PM Good luck bro.. hope everything works just fine.
Dont worry AAA will always be there to help you =D

Cjburn 04-04-2002, 08:34 PM When you're swapping the motor you're going to have to do a new clutch and get the flywheel cut (since the clutch is original). You really should, do all the belts while it's out, a new filter, clean the throttle body, inspect the fuel filter. Alot of service stuff that is a pain in the ass while the motor is in the car. Then you can inspect the brakes, axles, and other wear items. If money is a concern, it's probably cheaper just to get a used SR20DE from SOKO than do a head job. I still don't have mine running right, but the couple times I have had it out, I can't stop grinning. Good luck
NismoSER 04-04-2002, 08:47 PM All that was a given Chris :) , but thanks for the sound advice. The plan is to just get a motor from SOKO, or JGY or whereever I can get the best deal.
The woman is really sensitive about the kind of blue that this car is. She's so stuck on that electric blue color that if this wasn't the electric but rather the sapphire blue, she wouldn't want it anymore. Oy. I'd probably still buy the car and fix it up (or try to :) ) and maybe give it to my brother or something.
