when it switches gears theres a jump like the back end is getting bumped by someone (for comparison) and im unsure what it is. its in pretty much every shift too.

that seems to be the trend with nissans automatic transmissions. My friend drives an auto 96 sentra with the ga16de, and it does it as well. heres the fix, get a manual. :)

Hmm...I've heard of this before. Its the engine getting pissed at the auto tranny and trying to throw it off your car. Your engine is feeling passed over by the choice of the automatic. I know this because I have one too. I guess it would compare to having an overweight female midget for a roommate when all the other guys have hot, model-like blonde females for roommates(5 spd)
:)
Ok I have way too much free time today. To answer your question.. I have no idea. Does it happen when accelerating or decelerating or both? I think mine kinda does this when decelerating and then I give it a little gas to go.

only during the shift, especially in first gear. would changing the tranny fluid fix it since ive never changed it since i got it 15k miles ago? or is my tranny going out...i DONT need a dying tranny while trying to sell the car.

Switch to Mobil1 synthetic ATF... it might help.. it's really easy.. there is a drain plug, so it's like changing the oil... If you want more challenge then change filter, but now you need to unbolt the whole pan..

If I remember correctly B&M makes some stuff called Trick Shift or something like that, that I think is supposed to smooth out your shifts. You might look into that.
