Wow I was reading nissan performance magazine on www.sentra.net/npm and phantom grip makes LSDs for cheap like $299 or you can get em for $279 at www.mmrusa.com thats good and this is also cool bout them they make LSDs for automatics but its more money since it would be considered a custom unit

What was the general consensus of this? I have heard good and bad things about the phantom grip... can anyone with experience on this shed some light? Is this worth the money or not, as I am in the unfortunate LSD-less '98 crowd...

Guys-

Nissan Performance Magazine will be installing a unit in either my car (mine is with LSD) and a fellow member of the staff's car (Non LSD) very soon. There will be a thorough testing using sensors custom made... All data will be compiled and an honest test will be conducted and results will be given... I dont have a time frame on this but I can tell you it will be very very soon if you wish to hold on a little longer.

Alot of DSMer's have tried this. The general opinion is that they help a little but not really worth the money. It's not a true LSD.

It is esier to get a used tranny and a left halfshaft from a 95-97 tranny and install it. At least you will know that you have an LSD that works. Phantom Grip is very suspect. Seems to me like snake oil.

I was able to secure a used tranny with 587 miles on it and install in in my 98 SE-R. Now I have an LSD.
