How the hell do you get the hub back onto the lower ball joint. I've tried pushing it down by hand, and then using an impact on the nut, but it only goes down about 1/2 of the way, and then won't budge.

Any help?

It's a pita. I used a 1/2 socket and braker bar with a 2-3ft pipe to get more leverage. I kept at it untill the bottom of the hub was flush with the ball joint. Either that or bring it someplace to be pressed in.

Hope this helps you out!

I put it all back on the car and used a jack under the control arm. The ball joint just kind of slid onto the hub that way.

Well I cranked on it, and then it got alot easier. I think I stip'd out a row of threads on the lower ball joint. But its almost flush now, and I can get a cotter pin thru it. :dunno:

i would just get it hand tight, then lower the car and put weight on the arm. It would pop in everytime.

LOL i drove around for a week w/ it not completly seated because I was in the middle of moving and didn't have time/space/tools/etc.. to deal with it. Needless to say today when I got a chance to look at it again, it hadn't moved a bit.

I've always just put a jack under the control arm.
