Well, gang, I was only able to spend a couple hours working on the SE-R on Thursday. Then the Forum went down, of course. So, here's what little I was able to accomplish on Thursday:

http://www.sr20deforum.com/gregturbo/oilhook.jpg
I installed the oil drain fitting (the brass one in the block), and you can also see the feed line from my oil pickup on the back of the block snaking its way across the field of view. The oil pickup line is Earl's braided stainless steel with AN fittings on the ends.

This is my oil pickup 'tee' fitting, which I showed you all in an earlier, separate post. I removed the factory oil pressure sender (not easy at all, let me tell you), and with some careful nudging it finally came free. I hooked up the tee fitting, and used the Greatest Gift To Racers -Zip Ties- to secure it to some hard lines on the firewall. I wanted to anchor it with steel fittings on the firewall, but there just wasn't enough slack in the wires coming from the oil pressure sender to reach over there.

I began the *early* phase of routing/figuring out my intercooler piping on the driver's side. I'm using 45-degree and 90-degree mandrel bends, $8 specials from JC Whitney. :D Today, I purchased a nice air tool--a 25,000rpm mini cutoff tool-- to help speed up cutting those pipes down to size. My hacksaw just wasn't too efficient. Plus, those catalytic convertor bolts are going to need cutting off. They're stuck on there, again. :(

There you go. Much more will happen over the weekend, I'm sure (weather depending, of course). And, my T28 *should* be here by Monday for the final touch. :D

Looking good Greg! So, it's going to be a T28! Save some $$$ for tires ;)

Cheers,
Charlie:)

Hey looks good Greg, thanks for the pictures. Are those the silicone hoses you were talking about, the group deal? What happened to that? I wanted to get a set for myself.

Thanks, Charlie and Jose. As for the Purosil hoses....it just never materialized into a group buy is all. My supplier just kind of went off on his own tangent, and we just let the topic disappear. He only had a certain number of sticks of that Purosil to sell, anyway.

We only got about 6 people who said they'd buy, and we needed 10-20 to do it at that price.

Looks, good Greg, these pictures are a HUGE help to all us.

Would you know of a place to get some silicone hoses at a good price? I found road race engineering to be decent, but I'm wondering if there is anyone else out there.

Wow nice to see that everythings coming along so nicely. My goal was to take pictures and document everything like your doing but us Northern Alliance guys got a little sidetracked with trying to finish the intstall. Finally though everything is all done and the car is pretty much done. ( The only thing left is pretty much welding the intercooler piping. ) As far as the feel of the T28...holy moly! The car is crazy. Boost gauge hits 0 at about 2,500 rpm..and at about 3000 the needle hits close to 10. Even with my 17's 1rst an d 2nd gear can be deadly to my tires. Car pulls all the way to redline. Victims so far of the T28...a WRX ( 3 car lengths..from a roll on/ Was that fun Luis??? ) But yeah looks good!

Greg- are you going to bead the pipes? I'm sure the tighter-fitting silicone will do better than my heavily-hosed-clamped Lowe's couplers anyways. Are you going to use the heavy duty hose clamps or just standard ones?

Hey Greg its lookin' really good. relating to Ben's question, I would use heavy duty clamps if you can afford them. You will be happy you did.

Home Depot couplers work fine as long as you bead roll the pipes. Just splatter some weld boogers on the ends. Works for me, it's covered up and you don't see it and I've never blown off a IC hose.

Ben, et al--

I am actually going to have my exhaust guy weld up the IC pipes from where they come out of the IC to the 90-degree bend that goes up into the fenderwell.

The other pipes --yes-- will have a nice bead of JB Weld Stick (this stuff is so awesome compared to the 'regular' JB Weld, btw) around the ends. :D

Greg-

Is it just me or do I notice you have an intercooler other than a Forge unit connected to your IC piping?? Just wondering so I can order my piping soon...

what kind of intercooler are you using to run your car?

Eric and Canadian guy--

For now, I have the factory Bluebird intercooler doing duty up front. I will have a Forge unit in May. I had to hold off buying the Forge unit right away, due to some business maneuvers I'm pulling off right now.

By the end of May, I promise there will be a shiny Forge intercooler up front. :D

*Thanks the Lord that he is not seeing things incorrectly...* :D Greg get the Forge Unit.... its the best IC I've ever laid my eyes on, 10 times better craftsmanship than the F-Max unit... *NOTE* this is strictly my opinion, no flaming needed...

Do you have any pics of the oil feed line? An return line, an where they are coming/going to?
Also, since I live in Omaha NE. I have pretty cold winters. .. so i won't be able to do the throttle body mod for the water line. So can anyone tell me and show me with some pics another way to do the water line?
I will be bolting on a T28 setup onto my car. It's got a JDM DE going in it soon. I just want to drill and tap the block for the oil and water lines and plug them up. Before I put the JDM DE into my car. That way I can just unplug them when i got all my turbo parts ready to be bolted on. Thanks.
