Hey Calum,

Would it be possible for you to have Calumsult take its' data samples at set RPM intervals as opposed to time increments? The way it works now, it's hard for me to overlay or graph multiple runs because the time intervals vary from run to run. If the samples could be tied to RPM, it would also make it easy to graph Calumsut data with DynoJet dumps.

As always, I think I can speak for all of us and say that we really appreciate your help. The software and interface box are frikin awesome!

Have you used the 'window' function Chris? Thats exactly what it is for. Turn the gauges on, give the datalog a name and file name, then click the 'window' button. The number on the right is the rpm it automagically starts datalogging and it will automagically turn itself off when the rpms start to decrease.

When your done goto the 'playback' tab, there is a button marked 'time', click it and it changes to 'RPM' and the data is plotted versus rpm, just for overlaying with a dyno plot.

I use the window function and love it, thanks. What I'm talking about is the raw data itself, which I pull into Excel. The data points occur at time intervals, not RPM intervals. That wouldn't be so bad if the time intervals were consistent, but they're not.

So for instance, if you want to look at something like timing data from multiple runs, the rows don't line up in Excel. Also, I usually datalog with Calumsult when I go to the dyno. The dyno guy is nice enough to let me copy the dyno runs off of his PC, so now I have the actual Dynojet WinPep data, and not just the printed graphs. WinPep lets you export the runs, and the datapoints are by rpm, I think in 100rpm increments. It would be really nice to plot the WinPep data along with the Calumsult data, but since Calumsult doesn't dump by RPM it's kinda tricky. Not to mention the fact that Excel graphs are a completely baffling PITA!

Ah, but if your using the window function just have excel plot the data versus the second column (I think that is the RPM column), it should be linear.

Shoot me a copy of both an example exported WinPep run and the CalumSult window'd datalog from it and I'll set up and excel spreadsheet for you with the data plotted out, you can then just cut and paste new data into that.

That works great until you try to do it with multiple runs, or with Calumsult and WinPep data, because the rpm points from the Calumsult runs don't line up. For instance one run might rpm have samples at 3250, 3385, 3456 etc and another will be 3203, 3312, 3478 etc.

So just have each dataset have its own rpm scale. You can do that in excel. E-mail me the data. :P
