My alternator is pulling 15.4 amps and the FSM say's it should be 14.1-14.7

I first noticed this over a year ago after installing my volt gage so I suspect it's been high for quite some time.

Any negative effects to this and if so what should be done to bring it in spec aside from buying a new unit?
