Got the red NX from ebay going tonight!!!!!!!

I got the car and was told it has a snapped timing chain - upon inspection the chain was OK, but the motor knocked like crazy, the cams were also worn BAAAAD (car only has 75k) - so I'm guessing oil problem???

So I swapped in a motor from JGY, did all the tune up stuff, and turned the key - Almost no problems!

Car runs/drives GREAT - I got a killer deal on it, and will be passing it on to my sis's boyfriend.

Only problem - speedometer doesn't work - not sure I got the cable going right - any way to check this?

I assume you only disconnected it at the trans and not the cluster. The cable may have snapped internally. You could put the end of the cable in an electric drill, spin it up, and see if the speedo moves. If not, then disconnect the cable from the cluster. Ever do that? It seems impossible, but you can disconnect it without removing the cluster from the dash, you just need to be real limber, and have twiggy arms. There's a clip at the top of the cable connector that you have to push down with one finger, while pulling the cable away from the cluster. Once you do that, have someone spin the cable at the tranny end, and feel the other end to see if its turning.
