i figured that since my car is getting fixed and repainted i might as well take off my pacesetter header and give it a nice hi-temp paint coat as well. :D

i am wondering if it would be worth it to file/smooth out the holes in this sucker, what kind of tools to use to do it would be helpful also.

You can use various hand files. You could try a Dremel. You could use a die grinder.
