HI all.

I've joined up because I'm helping a friend fix his Pulsar GTI-R and I'm looking for help on the transmission side of things.

Basically he cannot select reverse gear at all but can select 1,2,3,4 and 5 as usual. I was wondering if this was a common fault with the gearbox and if anyone can help?

We have some brilliant mechanics on this forum. Unfortunately I am not one of them. ;)

You may have to re-post this outside of the New Members section (maybe in the General SR20 section) to get better responses and more "looks" from the mechanically inclined. I think you have a couple day wait, but if you don't get an answer here, try again when you can post anywhere.

Normally, forum rules prohibit "double posting" but I am pretty sure that you would be okay bending that rule considering you are currently confined to newb land.

Currently in my SE-R reverse is kinda difficult to select, but still possible. I'm not 100% sure, but I think in our cars, reverse isn't synchroed which leads to this problem. I'm sure if I give my tranny enough time, I won't be able to pick reverse either. How many miles are on the car? I have 216K on mine, original motor and tranny as far as I can tell.

there is 130k on the one I'm working on atm

mmm tasty, what else has he done to his car? mines pretty standard atm 318is.. due to insurance cost :(
