Thought I'd be different on my GTI-R swap (and use what I already had) cause I'm so dang cheap:rofl:

Anyways, my plans are everyday driver with max 12lb boost or so. Set-up is bored MAF, JWT tuned plug-n-play ECU;) , stock 444cc injectors, t28 of course and 3" mandrel all the way out. No plans yet for SAFC or other tuner device - just enjoy all that dang work and go boost!

Yes I painted it myself with a NISSAN yellow - heck Dodge Vipers and Vettes come in yellow - and they're pretty fast! So what ya'll think?

I have to give you an A+ for effort and originality but it seems that it is blocking most of the radiator. Let us know how it runs in the heat.

I agree that it covers most of the radiator, there's about 3/4 " gap between it and the condensor. As you can tell, it's the stock intercooler with the one end tank flipped around. I'm sure the fans will run a bit more, but the radiator was almost clogged completely up on the outside when I took it out with sand and grit stuck in between all the little fins after 14 years of driving here in SC (lots of sand here). I'm sure it will cool way better with all that crap out anyway. We''l see soon!

A++++ I like it ... I dont think it covers the rad up to bad. thats got to be the shortest piping for a front mount on our cars.. now paint that VC :biggthump

That's different for sure. Looks good. Should at least get a NX2K rad or Koyo.

Terry Vincent had a setup like that on his white/orange B13. He had the intercooler a little lower though.

So how did you make those rings? What was the procedure, great idea by the way.

theres a kit available for the gtir with a similar pipe run, problem with it is it requires a new rad being made up or the standard one dropping lower to go the pipe run over the top.

Damn that is very cool. The fab work looks good.

Thanks for the comments -

The hood needed a bit of tweaking to clear the modded radiator support, but there was plenty of unecessary metal there anyways!

YELLOW - WHY YOU ASK? Because with all the dumb A$$ drivers down here I used to swear those bastards couldn't see it when it was faded black - so let's go bright I thought - didn't help much. Now they can see what they're pulling out in front of now.

I plan on cutting two oblong ovals in the ftont bumper to let in some more air (note to self - don't dork it up and make it look hacked on though). I seen some pics where someone else did it and I like it.

I considred droppin the radiator lower to run pipes like ourPulsar owner did - but hey, got a welder and a saws-all might as well use them!

it still fits with some cutting of the center rear of it from what i see... very fukin nice.. makes the motor look more coked out then it already is.
