There's no point in running an intercooler (not innercooler) on a non-turbo motor. The purpose of an intercooler is to cool down the air after it goes through the turbo (and gets very hot), before it goes into the engine. An intercooler is not a refrigeration device, it can't make the air any cooler than ambient. If you're not running a turbo, the air going into your motor won't be any hotter than ambient anyway, so there's no point in attaching an intercooler.

Well... yeah, I suppose you could, but it would really be bordering on severely stupid to do that. You would be adding all kinds of length to the intake tract with no appreciable benefit. You would be better off buying one of those fake intercooler intake things, the ones that you front mount and look like an intercooler, but are basically just an intake.

That's assuming you have money to burn and don't mind looking like an idiot, because a regular cold air intake will actually work better. :D
