I called soshin and k wantanbe today to price out motors.

K wantanabe told me 395 for the motor, but 295 for shipping!!

I called Soshin, located 20 minutes from me on the suggestion of Ltrain (Linus) and talked to someone there and I told him I was from the forum. He said 850, but he could work with me on it. I was shocked--maybe I misheard him, so I asked if it was the SR20DET because I just wanted a DE. Then he said 550. I'm hoping that's what he said the first time *** if he can work with me on 550, that's a helluva lot better than 850. I dunno, I'm gonna drive there on Wednesday and check it out and see what I can do.

I've read of people gettin engines for like 200-300...and I'm hoping to find something like that. :)

Any suggestions?

When you go there ask for Efran. Tell him Peter from CT sent you by after the luck and great service I got from him. That guy is awesome and the place is huge and full of motors. Let me know with what you come out with. Just send me an email afterwards.

WOW! Those are great prices! I wish I had known about some of these places when I was looking for mine. What are the miles? Under 30 thousand miles? I got my JDM motor about 6 months ago from Rosen Autosport for $1000 shipped. Do you know what some of the prices are for DET's or VE's?

I didn't get the engine yet because I won't be able to work on the car for another month or so. But I will definitely be getting the engine from them.

RySE-R1--

I assume these motors are the same ones (under 30K miles) that everybody else imports. I've heard from a couple people that these engines are very very clean. Keep in mind though, this price does NOT include shipping, since I am picking it up myself. I didn't find out the prices for DET's or VE's, but I'll find out eventually because I will buy a DET for my SE-R one day :D
