i bet the elise would take down the corvette z06 as well, so i don't know what they are crying about. the elise is one really quick import, something that we can finally stand on as a pushrod killer (ohh wait, the cobra r doesn't have pushrods. the corvette..??).

they're just complaining because they hate seeing a car from the u.k. eating up on america's best.

and btw, for 55 grand the cobra r does suck. too bad they don't sell for 55k. last i checked, they were still going for the 60-70 thousand dollar range. like most ferrari f40's, this car will probably never see a track as well. i hate people that buy the car just to sell it. :rolleyes:

why don't they just get a older skyline from motorex for 55K and the Z06. that would be you greatest comparison.

Some (alot) Vette owners are real @$$'s. If you notice though there are a decent % of them don't like anything thats not a Vette. So don't take offense.

One of them did have a point though, the nice Elise is not street legal. Still I wouldn't mind the lower end ones :D

For the guy that owns that Vette I think of him as an uneducated person. I think that TurboCivic really showed his a good sport and has class. After the race he posted the result and wished his opponent best of luck.

Most V8 guys are actually really cool. They are just ignorant. You just have to get through their ignorance by spanking their ass. I've met a lot of cool Cobra and Mustang guys by doing this. I'll pull into a gas station afterwards to get gas and we'll just shoot the shit. Most car enthusiasts are just that, ENTHUSIASTS. Most just are biased to their own car but can recognize and give respect to another fast car. You just have to prove it to them. How many people do you think looked at my car and just smirked, thinking what the hell is this stupid ricer thinking, until I proceeded to walk their ass. Then they get all bug eyed and want to know what's under your hood. Take that Camaro SS guy at dyno day. Very ignorant till Aaron showed his ass up. After that, he was giving Aaron thumbs up and telling people that car would kick his ass. IMO, V8 guys almost have a right to feel like imports are a waste of time. 99% of the time, imports don't stand a chance against a muscle car. I mean, how many ricers do you think pull up to a camaro after installing their intakes and fart cans trying to race? Just my 2 cents.

for the money, the Z06 IS the supreme car on the road. I would give, lets just say a................................testicle for one. I know with my pay (unless I lived in my car) I could never own one, until they become outdated and crappy like an old cross fire injection vette :)

I have a confession to make guys....I was almost one of those V8 guys...i was this close <makes a really small thing with fingers> to getting a '92 camaro 305...(wanted a 350, but hey..) And its still one of the cars i would really like to have, and plan to one of these days.
I cruised the Z28 forum for a while and it was much like this forum is, full of some really great people, and moron here or there, but they were cool guys. There was a different forum (i forget which) but was full of idiots and ignoramuses (i got to use 'ignoramuses'!!). every thread was reduced to bitch and moan about this and that and ricers and american and yadda yadda yadda...but the people in the first were not high and mighty about their V8s, they gave credit where it was due and didnt automatically dismiss anyone else...from what i saw..Anyways, im not sure where this is going, so ill stop.

I think some of you guys got it backwards. I think in general import drivers are more ignorant than the V8 guys, to be honest. You know the type - the 17 year old kid in a Civic EX that thinks he's the shit and can take on anybody because he just got a exhaust system. Although I think we're pretty lucky - the SE-R community has very little rice or ignorance.

No, the Elise WAS street legal, that was the whole point. You can buy them from Sun motorsports, exactly as shown in the article with the B18C5 motor, fully US street legal.
