I was wondering what some of you guys with or around the same setup or just input of how much boost would be good for the street and good for track. heres the mods

Rebuilt Sr20de with about 10k
Gti-r Exhaust Manifold
Gti-r T28 Turbo
Hotshot FMIC and piping
Turbo XS RFL BOV
JWT 3 bar ECU
Ford Cobra MAF
444cc Injectors
JGY Fuel Rail
Walbro 255lph Fuel Pump
JGY 3" Downpipe
3" Catback exhaust/3"-4" Apexi N1 Muffler
Competition Stage 2 Clutch Good for 260 lb. ft/tourque

On the 444's you should be able to run 16 PSI or so, that'd be nice on that setup, but your clutch might not like it.

i run that setup but @ 4 bar FP and a gt2871r. I would say 14-16 psi should be good for you.

is that 14-16 psi on pump gas or a mix with race fuel?

15 psi, on pump gas. the turbo is just about out of breath at 1 bar.

have fun!

i was told that 12 psi was the highest boost that you can run on a de 9.5:1 motor

its on 93 oct

did you put lower compression pistons in when you rebuilt the motor?

if you're running the stock 9.5 CR pistons, i'd start at 12psi and SLOWLY turn up the boost until you get detonation. With the weather being hot, the limit is going to be lower relative to cold weather. I've run 12psi with my crappy t25 (i.e. not efficient at all at those boost levels and air flow rates) with 93 octane and haven't had any problems. I do put in some octane booster if I go to the track though, just to be safe.

If you get some cams though, 12psi on the t28 should be around 280+whp, so near the max of the injectors. Without cams, somewhere around 15-16psi as Nismo_Freak mentioned.

Add some water injection for some safety margin, I have run up to 18psi with no detonation on 93 octane pump gas with dual-stage 50/50% water/alcohol injection. Obviously it would be more safety margin if running higher octane race fuel. If I was at the track on my current setup I'd cap it at 16psi or so, add some race fuel and I'd feel OK running it at 18psi. Of course I'm running a GT28RS as well, so that helps lower the charge temps vs a T25 or T28.

On a T28 I wouldn't go over 14psi on pump gas.

To spdracerUT - I wouldn't trust that little bottle of octane booster to do anything for you at the track, lay down a few bucks and invest in a few gallons of 100 proof for track use.

I still leave it at 12psi with the octane booster :) Just that added margin over straight pump gas for the more demanding driving.

Noob question... whats the general advantages/disadvantages in running that setup w/ 3-bar vs. 4-bar?

Advantages:
1: better fuel atomization (creates a smoother mist/flow)
2: roughly 517cc @ 4bar which can support 345whp compared to 444cc @ 3bar (~300whp)

Disadvantages:
Not sure...havent found any yet.
