: What cams For Nitrous D.P sys??
detis4me 04-09-2002, 02:16 PM What is the best cams for Nitrous Oxide Systems direct port kit #04431 on the SR20DE? I know when i was back in the small block chevy days you could buy cams specifically designed for squeeze. What is the grinds/characteristics ie: duration, lift ,etc usually on these cams? More torque for bottom end? Or, more top end for speed? note : my car will see the 1/8th /and daily drives;).. so which cams, the JWT S series, or JWT C series, or any other makes........thanks alot
SERprise In WV 04-09-2002, 07:11 PM Stock cams work well enough to get you in the 13s easily. :D
Spend the money on a GOOD 2.25-inch exhaust, IMHO.
Good to see another small block Chevy person hanging around here. :)
SE-Rican 04-09-2002, 08:52 PM I second Greg on his coment. Stock cams with squeez will run awesome. 13's with a directport set-up is somthing that can and has been done.

SERprise In WV 04-09-2002, 10:11 PM #4430 will be a great place to start. Other things you'll need:
-Drill. To drill and tap your intake manifold runners.
-NOS tubing bender (or one that can bend small 1/8-1/16" metal lines). You have to bend each line yourself. It's easy to learn/do.
-Dremel or other tool for cutting the lines to specific lengths.
-Jets for the fuel pressure we run, stock. Usually, NOS kits have jettings for carbureted engines. NOS can fax you a chart with jetting recommendations based on fuel pressure, if you call their tech line and ask nicely. :)
-NOS brand bottle warmer/heater with thermostat. Nitrous is ALL about bottle pressure, and bottle pressure is determined by temperature.
-NOS brand purge valve kit. Makes a huge difference, IMHO, having fresh nitrous *right there* at the solenoids.
Good luck!
97SENTRASER 04-09-2002, 10:54 PM You're the man Greg!!!!! Thank God for this new subject on the forum.!!!!!

I'd get the 90-degree Soft Plume nozzles, if it were me. That way, you can just drill/tap straight down into the intake manifold, and let the Fogger make the 90-degree turn for you.
The Annular Discharge nozzles have to be drilled/tapped at about a 30-degree angle or less. Which will be tricky and won't leave a lot of room for the hard lines.
Just wanted to throw that out there. :D

detis4me 04-10-2002, 04:26 AM ahh i c , thanks greg, now i know, what i need to get the job done.. i appreciate it guys....Todd
detis4me 04-10-2002, 06:27 AM hey greg, what size jets do you recommend starting out with? what size do we run usually , and what is/should be our optimal fuel pressure? and also do i need a aftermarket f.p. regulator?
SERprise In WV 04-10-2002, 12:15 PM On the stock pump, you're good up to about a 75hp shot. Use the stock fuel pressure, no need to get a FPR.
As for jetting...every car/engine is slightly different. I suggest you call NOS' tech line and ask their help. Know your stock fuel pressure before you call.

Not if its a wet kit, the fuel solenoid does all the extra work.
