: Door dings here, and door dings there........
SmoothDaddyFig 04-09-2002, 02:45 PM Damn it!! I swear every week I have a new ding on my doors or rear quarter panels!!
It seems like the rubber guard on the doors is not thick enough or something. I need some Saturn Doors!!!
Anybody else a "DING" master? :(
I had about 25 door dings removed when I got my car repainted in August 2000.
I don't have a single dent yet. (Knocking on wood.)
It helps that my car isn't a daily driver any more.
Nothing you can do if you drive it every day. Just save up a bunch, and then go to a paintless dent removal place.
2wdBlazer 04-09-2002, 03:12 PM I think you should just scrap it & buy a B-14.
-Kris :D
Lamchop 04-09-2002, 03:12 PM Hey dude, go to www.dentpro.com. They offer like 3 or 4 dents repaired for like $150 or something like that.
Soupaflie 04-09-2002, 03:14 PM My wife is a magnet for door dings. Fucking things are always on a bend in the sheetmetal to so they are expensive to repair.
SmoothDaddyFig 04-09-2002, 07:24 PM Gents,
I was going to get them all out for $250 at Carsmetics.
Good thing I didnt, cause there are like 5 more that popped up since then.
Cant people be careful with their damn doors!!
The metal on my Classic is very Fragile, it seems. :(
Sneeze on it and *ding*. grrrrrrrrr.
I'll wait till my paint becomes oxidized till I get them pulled out.
97SENTRASER 04-09-2002, 10:26 PM My Bro and I work in the same complex and we park out in the middle of nowhere next to each other and then my mom works out there as well and she'll park next to us and guard us from those kind of people that walk by and smash thier purses, briefcases, etc,etc and open doors carelessly.
But I still get dings.
DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chrissy 04-09-2002, 10:32 PM Park away from people figgy! :p
I've got dings everywhere from before I bought the car. No new ones since I got it in July...hehe
tg200ser 04-09-2002, 11:13 PM I've gotten about 4 or 5 dings since i bought the car in december, and also a big scratch from somebody leaning on it with keys or something in their pocket. Someone also backed into me at school and left about 4 big scratches in the bumper.
One day i was just thinking of how stupid people are for not being more carefull when getting out of their car. Like five minutes later as i was getting my bag out of the back seat a strong gust of wind came and slammed my door into someones car. I quickly got back in the car and moved it so the guy didn't see it and do the same to me. It was a newer honda accord and its not like i could have gone inside and looked for the guy to tell him, so i just moved. I still feel bad about it though. Now i just park in the back of a lot taking up two spaces so nobody hits me and i dont hit anybody else. And no i dont do this if the lot is full and has limited spaces, and i always go to the back. I'm not that inconsiderate. I think walking the extra 100 feet is worth the money i will save in fixing door dings. Now that i think about it i could have left a note in the window of the honda with my number on it. What would you guys have done?
MiamiSR20 04-09-2002, 11:21 PM I have you guys beat, I work at The Home Depot and I park the furthest away from everyone and I still end up with door dings and shopping carts around my car. It's not like I drive a Ferrari but I still love this little car.
kpw97 04-10-2002, 01:46 PM I live in Boston man. Home of the ever famous "Boston Bump." I parallel park my car on the street everyday. My car looked awsome when I bought it a year and a half ago. There were only two minor dents to speak of. Now that think is dented everywhere. The bumpers are in really rough shape. And I don't even wanna start on how my hood is like that. Even worse, they used so much salt this winter, she's started to rust:(
I really need to get a driveway!
SmoothDaddyFig 04-10-2002, 01:50 PM Nothings worse then parking 500 yards away and having people STILL park next to you!!!!
Im bringing some cones with me everwhere I go. That way I'll plug up the parking spaces beside me.
RySE-R 1 04-10-2002, 01:55 PM If it's not the dings that get you, it's the bird poop. Even though I park behind a house off the street, I have to park under several trees and every time I go to my car there is a new bird or squirrel dropping smack dab in the middle of my hood!
BTW, somebody would just steal the cones.

I know this isnt a ding..but...
SOMEONE SCRATCHED MY CAR AT WORK!!!
i was new for about a week. I come out on break, cars clean nothing wrong.. then i come out for lunch.. and theres a huge key scratch and i think i know who it was.. (damn honda boys and theyre generic toys) but know way to prove it.. so then i just quit.
oh well.. umm so i guess now its time to ask insurance to paint my car all over again
FastNX 04-10-2002, 03:50 PM i hate it when people get out of my car and close the door by the window, especially on the top. When I first bought the car i told my girlfriend to kick her feet off before she came in and she was like "did you just tell me to kick my feet off? how dare you!"

Car comes first!
lol:D
nigbot4000 04-10-2002, 04:52 PM I just got my first ding and let me tell you I was pissed. Not only that but is scratched the paint too. If I saw someone do that, ohhhhhhh there would be hell to pay.
RySE-R 1 04-10-2002, 08:35 PM About the door closing thing. People who ride with me who don't know better always close my door on the seatbelt. Doesn't help the fact that my weatherstripping has a tendency to come loose off the inside of the door. Attaching the seatbelts to the door frame is one of the only complaints I have about the Classics. If that's all I have to complain about then we must be pretty well off.
jayac 04-10-2002, 10:41 PM I hope you guys dont mind the plug, but if anybody is interested, my cousin does that paintless dent removal on the side. It takes about 10-15 minutes per dent, and you dont have to worry about repainting your car. It only works on small dents and dings. Let me know if any of you guys are interested.

especse_r 04-11-2002, 07:23 AM Tell me what would you feel, if some skater crashed on your car? It happened to me :( I almost beat the shit out of him.
