My idle has been strange lately
it will dip and jump at a stop, like my car has cams,... but my car has stock ones (this lumpy idle started just last week)

sometimes it will soar to 2k rpms, and will stay there. if i have the car in first gear or 2nd, at low rpms, the car wont slow down in gear, it will maintain speed as if i was gently giving it gas

i checked the throttle wire, and it not affecting it
i adjusted the idle screw, and when i tightened it all the way shut, it still idled at 2k rpm!
what else can i do ?

Yeah this happens to me too sometimes, or rather did. Remember that day at the geekout when my car idled at like 1500? I think it's the high port cam.
I did tps, clean TB, adjust timing, and then the idle (the right way) It was ok for a few days. I keep it at about 900+-50 to keep up the oil pressure in the head. Only it has been low (800 and below) since I've been driving it again. I've also changed plugs (NGK's).
Have you done plug wires, and rotor?

Also...clean the throttle body out. And...I'll bet you'll find a vacuum leak somewhere in the intake tract. I had that happen around my old single Fogger (nitrous), and it about drove me nuts.

It caused the idle to fluctuate, jump up and down all over the place.

Hope this helps. :D

Double check the AAC valve and the small hoses that connect to the EGR. My car was idling perfect then sat for a couple of days and the idle wouldn't drop below 1800rpms. Checked the AAC and then checked near the EGR. About 10 min later, the idle dropped to normal, but my cel light came on. Code 35-egr temp sensor. The damn hoses are all cracked to shit and the sensor is bad.

Good thing the DET doesn't have EGR...ha ha ha

Glad to see the check engine light still works. :D

ok thanks, ill check those things out when i get home.

my parents went away for 2 weeks, so i was driving their cars to work and school... so mine sat for a week.. the longest break its ever seen in my hands, and then this problem started when i drove it for the first time after that.

i just recently gave it a full tune-up, so it cant be plugs/ rotor problems.
ill clean the throttle body and check the egr and stuff when i get home, ill let u guys know how it goes
thanks :)
