Ok this whole thing is driving my up a wal. I have a b13 n.a and lately I have been having some problems. The car used to die out on me and not want to start up and so I re gorunded the maf. Then after that the car would still die but it would start up and the idle would be all over the place. So I re calibrated the tps and it seemed to idle better but would still die expecially in the rain. Yesterday I replaced my maf and it idles like its suposto do but when it rains it dies out evertime I come to a stop or down shift to first gear. Why is the rain causing my car to die like that? Is it the iacv valve? My maf like I said is replaced and regrounded and since I replaced it, it drives like its suposto to but when it rains. Any help would be great thanks.

Check and make sure your distributor cap isn't cracked in some form or fashion. If moisture gets in there.. well... electricity and water don't mix well. ;)

Ok I went and took a look at the cap and it was not cracked anywhere. Its just when I drive when its hot out it idles perfect. But as soon as it rains or theres fog or some sort of moisture in the air it dies like everytime I come to a stop. Does anyone else have or had this issue? I am stumped right now.

my friend had a maxima that did that because of his cone filter....try putting the stock airbox back on , it worked for him.. maybe its a faulty maf problem

I would guess a bad MAF as this is the only thing that is going to have anything to do with air density in the intake.
I did have a problem one time though where I had water running up my intake, through my MAF, and causing my car to not run right. When it rained really hard the air filter would get really wet and send water up through the intake. This is when I had the intake in CAI mode where it went down a hole cut underneath the battery. The air filter was behind the front bumper then. This is probably not your problem as you say you have the problem when there is any moisture outside but just a thought.
I chased moist/cool idle problems for a while, thinking it was the idle screw, IACV, TPS, and so on. It was just the connection on the TPS plug.
You might try a little electrical conductivity grease on your TPS, MAF, etc. plugs.

i know you checked the cap...but did you check the wires?? i had the same exact problem with my moms whip...and it was the wires...check and make sure they havent rubbed enough to wear through the rubber...inspect them real good for wear.

I'd look at the plug wires too. I've seen them degrade, and actually spark across themselves when wet!

Ok, I just went ahead and swapped out my taylor "409" spiro pro race wires with some stock ones and im going to see what happens. Perfect day to do it too because its been raining all day.

Ok, after driving it yesterday and today its gotten better after replacing the plug wires. I does not stall out in the rain like it used too. Which was more than half the time I would come to a stop or put the tranny into neutral. Now it just seems to do it when ever it feels like. Most of the time the Idle will catch its self at 1200rpms and drop down to 800rpms but sometimes it does not catch and just bounce really bad and then die or just die all together with out bouncing. Thats whats going on now in rain or no rain.
