: Profec B SpecII - Help
chriscar 06-30-2006, 10:11 AM I can't get this Profec B SpecII to display PSI. I've followed the instructions in the manual, and the damn thing just will not switch to PSI.

The other odd thing, is that it's supposed to display x100 % kPa when in metric mode, but it doesn't.
Hopefully I'm missing something obvious here, someone help!

veilside180sx 06-30-2006, 10:20 AM It works that way...it's just a pain to get it to do it. It normally takes me like 10 minutes to get it to switch to psi. That manual kinda sucks, well that and Greddy can't make things very user friendly.
chriscar 06-30-2006, 10:24 AM Well what the heck do you do to make it switch? Because when it's in OFF Mode, pressing mode twice just steps it through the modes as usual.

XSivPSI 06-30-2006, 10:32 AM I just went out to my car and It switched for me first and every time no problem... When its Off you don't see [hi] or [lo] right? just a "0"? All you do is push and hold the top button then push the bottom one 2 times before the 2 second window is closed from when you originally depressed the top button.

Yes

I tried it six ways to Sunday, and I could swear I've done it exactly like you're saying, but I'll try it again tonight.
What about the fact that I don't see x100 % kPa when it's in metric mode? Does yours show that? I can see the indicator when the whole display lights up at power up, so it's there.

Yes it does....
When you say you don't see x100%kPa what else is displayed? is it completely blank with only a zero on the screen? if so I'm pretty sure thats psi mode. There is no unit displayed for psi.
from your original post
"*When psi is displayed, it will show psi in x10 value. x100 %kPa in the right bottom corner will dissapear."
chriscar 06-30-2006, 11:09 AM I'm going to hold off on this until I look at it again tonight. Now I'm starting to question myself. :melonscratcher:

TurboTank 06-30-2006, 11:20 AM hahaha ive installed a boat load of those and ive yet to mess with that setting nice to know..lol
chriscar 06-30-2006, 11:27 AM I'm starting to think it's showing PSI. I forgot that it actually displays PSI x10! And I was getting readings in the 90 to 140 range as I was playing with it, which equates to 9 - 14 psi, and that's right where I was on my boost gauge.
This may be a simple case of dumb-assesdness. :ugh: :ugh: :ugh:

So Chris, how are you liking the Profec B?

So far I like my nice, simple Blitz SSBC more. I'll reserve final judgement until I get some more time to play with it. Now that I *think* it's in PSI, I'll have a much easier time tuning it.

chriscar 06-30-2006, 09:37 PM Iiiiiiiiiiit's official. I am a certified dumbass. It's been in PSI all along.
Flame on homies.

i've been wanting to switch mine to psi as well, i guess reading this thread is easier than messing with that damn book. the bc is wired up, but it's not setup or anything lol. i am lazy
grizz00 07-02-2006, 03:53 AM good job cris....u dumb ass, lol....jk u'll find that the spec2 controls ur boost in %....so ur stock boost is=to 0% and everything starts from there.
so 7psi-max boost
0%-100%
aiiight and dont 4get ur gain homie
