I was driving down the road, very sedately I might add, when sudenly my clutch pedal drops to the floor and engages third gear at the same time. At first I thought it was my cable, but no I could clearly see my cable was still working and in one piece. So I figured I blew up my pressure plate, I looked around didnt see any other symptoms.
Fast forward to this afternoon, I bought a clutch yesterday from a forum member and as Im disconnecting my trans sensors I notice a crack in the clutch arm. Damnit! You cant see this from above only from below, but anyway my trans is literally ready to drop anyway. All thats holding it is the transmission mount.

So at this point Im just wondering what you would do? I mean its gonna be alot easier to get to the arm with the trans down, and I guess I might as well install this clutch I just bought while Im at it. Or would you leave it in and try to pop the arm out and get it welded, or buy a new one? 4th of july weekend I know I aint gonna get parts for a while, but I prolly can find someone to weld this thing with a reinforcement. Anyway I got to goto work, so let me know what you think ;)

You have to pull the trans to get the clutch arm out.

yeppers. even if it's not broken it's a good idea to go on and replace the arm while you're there.

Yea, what they said. A new arm is only about $30 from Nissan. Get a new one!

Also helps to put a nice weld on top of the new one to beef it up before you put it in.
