I used silver high temp engine enamel on my rotors and it has lasted without any chips or blemishes at all. Its actually completely outlasted my wheels when I painted them black. My wheels are all chipped up now.

I was watching my buddy paint up an exhaust manifold for a Ford Model A. He cleaned it up w/a wire wheel [no bead blaster yet] for prep. He then took out the torch and heated up the manifold. He didn't get it glowing red but it was hot for sure. Then he sprayed it w/VHT hi-temp flat black. He said it will last longer when sprayed on when the item is hot. I guess it 'bakes' the paint on. He said it lasts about 2 yrs.
