ok so i've been doin a lot to the whip recently. i put a header on and then built a little exhaust dohicky. boy was i proud of myself. so here's the setup. the header goes directly into the secondary but the secondary was cut before the bend. so i just welded a 18" piece of 2 1/2 in piping onto the end of the secondary. then i put a cheapo muffler on the end of that little pipe and called it a day. it's failry quiet when all is connected. here's the issue: the muffler wouldn't stay on for more than like 3 weeks. it started backing itself off. so i finally got that to seal up and stay put. but after 2 days of driving around, i wound up blowing the 2 1/2 in pipe completely off of the secondary. so i'm guessing since i fixed the leaks around the muffler, it built up too much pressure and found the next weakest place to blow itself off. here's the q's now: should i be mounting this on rubber hangers or will a fairly rigid mounting be fine?? is there any way to reseal this without having to take it out from under my car (jb weld??) has this ever happened to anyone?? does anyone think less of me for having such a ghetto rigged exhaust?? does it help to know that the car is pretty darn quick and sounds like a racecar?? any info/input/smartass comments/flames/ricers welcome and appreciated!! :rofl: :squint: :( :biggthump :D
