... problems. Not an end, bet I fooled some of you.
This is what my interior looks like at the moment:

So, why is the dash torn apart? Because the heater core is leaking. Those of you with S13s, go check your fittings, and then flush your coolant system. Hopefully you won't have to go through this too.
FYI, AutoZone wants $350 for a new core; Advance wants $175. I'm still looking.

You could always try car-parts.com BTW Kent, I found some of the tools but not all of them. Still looking for one more thing. I'll look at my storage unit tomorrow early morning.

I thought about that but figured on car-parts.com I'd end up with another used one. This time despite the cost I'm going for a new unit, with a warranty.
No sweat on the tools, I'm in no rush. Contact me when you're ready ;)

Well, I got this thing back together today. Everything but the dash, that is. I'm going to do several let-the-car-cool-down-and-drive-it-angrily runs before buttoning it up, just to be certain it's de-leakified, but I think I'm in the clear.
Update-wise, I'm not certain the old core actually had a leak, but it's VERY clogged. I think it backed things up badly enough that it finally started overflowing the system; unfortunately it was inside, rather than under the hood
For informational purposes - ever since swapping the engine from the old chassis into this one, it's run hotter than in the other car, as verified by the display on my Pivot fan controller. In the old car at cruise on the freeway, A/C off, the coolant temp was around 83* C. In the new car more like 86*C Now, it's back to around 82-83, and even 81 for some of the time. I have a feeling that the clogged heater core was causing me more problems than just a leak. I'll post back up after having driven the car for a week or so.
