I guess my question is what is the smallest gauge wire you can use when venturing this procedure??

4 gauge is as low as you should go.... just speaking from personnel experience here.

i used 1 only because 0 wasnt available and i didnt feel like taking a drive to another shop not to mention it'd be a little cheaper. btw thats all i had to buy to relocate the battery to the trunk because i rigged that sucker like mcguyver
