$3299, as listed from Hotshot.com.

Part in question I think is the turbo itself. The site talks about boosting 7psi. Is that even worth it?

Although it's a good deal cheaper than the F-Max kit.

Opinions?

For a while HS was using a turbonetics T3, that, well, was not quite the perfect turbo for the application. hey are also realeasing a 1.6 kit, the new 1.6 kit will utilize the GTI-R T28, I wonder if they will be offering the SR20 kit with the GTI-R turbo also? Other than that I would say they have a good kit, I like their manifold, and the other parts were pretty good. They are very complete for the price!

From all my research the t3 they use is not much better then the T28 on the GTIR manifold. Stormy, what you need to decide is how much power you want. Once you know that you can decide how to get there. Often people ask "is this a good turbo" without the followup of "I want to make XXXwhp" Decide what whp you want and then you can tell if it is a good turbo for you or not. With that said some turbos will always suck on our cars. The hotshot kit has a lower power potenial then the f-max kit. The f-max is really more then you need if you want 230whp. I like the GTIR manifold and a T28 for 230whp because it will never crack and it can look factory. Hotshot has a new kit that is very similiar to the f-max coming out soon. Thats the rumor.

Steve

Edit: Both the f-max and the hotshot are 230whp kits because they use 370cc injectors. If have to start upgrading injectors, maf meters, fuel pumps, etc after 230whp. It varies on how you do it but you get the idea.

do you have a link to the turbo kit you are talking about... the price seems very reasonable

I hit a 13.3@104 with 8 psi. So if that is worth it to you, get it.

on SE-R.net, there is a guy advertizing this kit for $2700, IIRC, FYI.
