I was taking apart the NX today, and I noticed soemthing I should have noticed before.

The car, supposedly sapphire blue, is blue everywhere except in the engine bay. The paint in the engine bay is black...is that weird? I figured the original color might be black, so if someone knew the color code...they can confirm my suspicions.

The code from the ID plate in the engine bay is TK3. Thanks everyone.

TK3 is Sapphire Blue.

Most B13's that I have seen are like that, with the engine bay portion of the chassis not body color. I know for sure TK3 is blue because I ordered touch-up paint in that color and TK3 was the code... Not only that, after stripping the interior, I know for a fact that it's the original color. :)

Actually... I believe, but someone can correct if wrong. With most factory paint jobs from the dealer. The engine bay is usually black or some of it may be painted the car color. But usually its black, from what ive seen.

I'd never seen anything like that before in any of the cars i have. My white se-r, red 240, my aunt's green g20, dad's beige accord, dad's black sc300, my mom's white golf, my friend's purple sentra, and my other friend's white NX2000 are all the same color in the engine bay as it is on the rest of the car.

I dunno, I guess i've just never seen it before. Good to know though. After fiddling through the panels and under carpet, it is blue everywhere. Thanks for the info guys.
