Well I went drifting yesterday about 2.5 hours before I had to go drag racing up at the strip and I busted my left side control arm on a curb I hit. I busted the spot welds off. Talk about ouch, and it did a good job of jarring me around too.

Thanks to Steve (98sr20de) for helping me today on the replacment of it and his endless knowledge of everything we were doing. Talk about some enginuity. (spelling ?)

Thanks to Stilleto, Projnx2000, Sr20sleeper, my friends and everyone that I called for information or help on this matter.

Also, last but not least, thanks to Steve and Tracy (his wife and a very cool woman) for there hospitality and kindess!

Thank you again Tracy and Steve.

so, where did you get the control arm from? also, was it for a B13 or a B14?

Glad you're ok, and the car is ok.

Not trying to be a pain, but have you considered doing a high performance driving event on a roadcourse? It's a lot safer than street drifting sessions, not to mention a lot faster, and there's a lot less to hit... shoot me a private message if you want some more info about those kinds of events around here.

Have fun,

Jon

I got the control arm from B&G in Bower's Hill, and it was for the B13 chassis. It came from a '93-'94 NX2000.

Hey Jon, you got a PM.

Yeah, I was being stupid and foolish. Everyone, keep it on the track please.

Don't worry, I wasn't about to get all preach-y and lecture-y or anything. To each his own. Do what you want to do, and have the most fun you can have, but... IMHO... road courses are a LOT faster and a LOT more fun and a WHOLE LOT safer than anything you can do in a car on a public street. :-)

who loves to drift, racing-style
through the "climbing esses" at VIR
(3.3 miles/17 turns, outside Danville VA)
at 100+ mph, with no traffic and nothing to hit :-)

I Just realized something. Where were you VA monkeys when I was going to school in VA??? I still had my old '91 classic then. That was around '96 and the import scene was zero. 'cept a few kids who had rodded hondahs going to school there from Florida which I used to smoke ;)

There was nothing better than taking a trip to the Madison Heights advanced Auto to ask for parts for a 91 se-r!!! If any of you VA guys have been to Madison Heights VA you know they speak a whole other language that somewhat resembles English! ;)

The only guy I knew in VA with an SE-R back then was Jason Garrett Young when he was still going to school at VT. Needless to say I actually never got to meet him because I was busy with school or had no money to go anywhere!!! Ha Ha... Maybe I'll take a little trip back 'ol virginny to visit. BTW I used to be in the Lynchburg area.

in his defense, he was in this subdivision that is 30 seconds from my house and doesnt have any houses yet. They just have this big paved loop that goes around this manmade lake with 4 90 degree turns and a nice little S-turn section I mean come on, how could you resist hauling ass through there? I'm just glad it all got fixed quickly so i can get back to showing him my tailights. Thanks for all the help steve, that was really cool letting him use the garage.

Been here off and on since 1986 or so. Didn't learn about this board until 6 months ago.

Talk about a tight Sr20 community. Nothing but good things to say here.

I hear you. When I spun a bearing on my old engine I made a few calls and my next day off I was driving to Miami to pick up my "cherry" engine.
