I have the original ga16de that came in my 93 sentra xe. When i got the car from my fiancee it looked as if the previous owner(s) didnt pay too much attention to the engine. Anyways, when my fiancee had it it would constantly stall when she put the clutch in, usually to stop. I never could figure out the problem. When i bought it from her I had the same problem. Whenever i would go to stop I would put in the clutch to downshift, then i could could feel the rpms just drop and when i would sit there it would just stall. Sometimes when i sit and idle it will drop idle speed then stall out sometimes. I believe it to be a problem that the idle speed just needs to be set a little higher, but all mechanics I talk to swear that you can only adjust it electronically throught the computer. Is there a screw that you can use to adjust the idle speed, or is there maybe another problem causing this?

The best thing to do would be to get a Haynes Manual and start picking at stuff. It could be your MAF.
Invest $12-$15 on an manual. Its your car Bible.
By the way, there is a screw to adjust the idle.

Thanks, I just picked up a haynes manual today. Im going to adjust my idle a little and im going to clean out my MAF too and see how that helps out.

if your gonna clean your MAF, you really should clean your throttlebody, too. soak a toothbrush in carb cleaner and have at it!!
