i am getting the spearco intercooler that is 24 * 6.52 * 3.5. what end tanks should i get? This is for a GTi-R swap in my 92 SE-R. Also i need help with the intercooler piping. on the drivers side there looks like there is room for piping but on the passenger side i cant seem to find a place for the piping to go. Can anyone with a GTi-R swap help me out or anyone have any info on the subject. I am going to use the top mount for now because i am low on funds and i dont really have an answer on the subject. Thank you

First off....you'll be driving around with no hood if you use the GTi-R top mount. It just won't fit under there, period. Good luck.

Secondly....IF you can fit the GTi-R intercooler up front (it's very tall), the you can fab up some IC piping from 2.0 inch (or larger diameter) exhaust pipe. Put the IC up front, then trace out your path. With the factory end tanks, it will involve some 180-degree mandrel bends, which you can buy at www.JCWhitney.com or www.summitracing.com or www.jegs.com

Plus...you'll need a section of straight pipe to connect the bends.

Hint: Slap a 90-degree bend onto the compressor outlet pipe. Move your radiator overflow tank 90 degrees, and voila'! You have a place to run your passenger side pipes. Just enlarge the hole that is there from the factory. I removed the windshield washer tank on mine. It's down in the fenderwell.

Good luck.

Hey greg, do you have ac? I've been trying to figure out how I'm going to mount the forge IC, and without removing the bumper bar completley I just don't see keeping the ac. Damn B14s have tons of room, I've got didley.

That's excatly how SR20DEvelopment's stage 2 front mount intercooler kit routes their piping on that side. On the drivers side, the path the piping takes is excatly the same as any CAI.

I front mounted my gti r intercooler. Had to cut off the inlet tubes-cover the holes- then open up the sides of the intercooler and weld back on the inlet tubes. It is a very TIGHT fit and lots of cutting to be done...but it fits!
I still have a/c and the windshield washer tank...all in factory location. I routed the i/c piping under the head light straight down. By doing this you also eliminate one 90 degree section which is equal to 5 feet of straight tubing!
