Hey, gang--

Just a heads-up here: The 3x a year Car Wars event held at Mountain Park Dragway (new name) in Clay City, KY is coming up on May 5, a Sunday. I plan on having the T28 up and running and racing that day. Car Wars is an Imports and Domestics event, street tires, etc. Full 1/4 mile racing, and they've re-vamped the track over the winter (new grandstand, etc.).

Gates usually open at 10am (best to be there early), and qualifications start at 11am. There will be close to 200-300 cars there.

www.MPDragway.com is the website, if you're interested.

Last fall, quite a few of us here on the Forum hooked up at this very event and had a blast. Clay City is about 35 minutes from Lexington, btw.

Okay....anybody else interested? We've got two weeks to organize a SR20 Meet at this event... :D

John--

I don't make the schedule for MP Dragway, you know. ;) Get that tranny fixed and bring it to Car Wars on May 5!

I also don't crack trannys, for some reason. But, I DID sleep at a Holiday Inn last night. :D

You need to steal my Quickest SR20 At Car Wars crown from me, Minnic. Hope you can make it.

Well, I think I can top that 13.95 Greg. Tranny is getting welded and All I need are some drag radials or slicks and I think its a go with this much boost. This car is so nasty, or at least it was before I snapped the tranny. You would really love it Greg!! ;)

By the way, are you saying your turbo will be ready by then? Are you going to be challenging me?

Ok guys - time to get this thing together - whats the plan(s) looking like? Maybe we could get together sat. night somewhere and have a hotel part :-P and a BBQ or something like that?

Just an idea.

if all else fails - who is leaving from where at what time?
My sis's boyfriend got the money for the NX I was selling so we'll be rolling down in NX's.... I think I've got another friend in this area coming with a 96 se-r.... who else?

I was just wondering what the cost is going to be to attend? Also would it be foolish to showup if you don't really want to race?

Saaby--

IIRC, the cost to race was about $25 last year. With new ownership at the track, though, that's liable to change. Spectator fees were about $10 to $15 last year.
It would NOT be foolish AT ALL to just come and watch the racing! Tons of people do so! Bring your car and watch! :D

I think its mid to late 90's, not too sure, I will send you the link to one on Ebay. I got it welded at Cycle WOrks on Dixie Highway, 20 bucks as long as you cuss a lot and laugh at the guys nasty jokes, you are good as gold. It may help to wear a Harley shirt in too. ;)

I may be going, still 50/50 right now, I jsut found out I am going to be a daddy last week and she is leaving for 3 weeks on the 6th to see her family in Europe!!!

We will see.....

Do me a favor and keep an eye on the Silver WRX he should be running in the 12's, I just don't know where? He is one of the local guys I know going there, there will also be a black lighting that should run 12.7s or so.
