Guy wants a grand and I dunno if he'll budge here is the lowdown (I inspected today)

Motor = bad, he says "my mechanic says it needs a waterpump" I say rod knock = to late

Front end = bad
Parts to fix:
1. Front bumper & spolier
2. Passenger side fender/headlight/turn signal
3. Both Fog lites
4. Hood
5. Radiator core support

He said on the phone a minor dent, but uhhhh the car is wrecked - he said he drove it like that for months... hummmm
Also said he did the tranny less than a year ago... wonder if the same mechanic did it :-P

Body other than the front:
Clean as hell, I saw no nicks dents or anything, the T-Tops had no scratches or nicks AND the rubber seals looked PERFECT.
Rear hatch had no rust, no fading looked good, the lil rubber seal around the top of the spoiler had popped out though.

Interior:
Missing the parcel shelf
Burns/tears/rips ALL over
Free ant farm included - there were NO KIDDING 20 bottles + of pop in there, and tiny little ants everywhere.....

Its maroon with black interior, AC but no power anything and no abs

Has new tires

Has 132 or 136k on it.....

Not mine but trying to help anyone out. to me if he wont budge, and it doesn't seem like he will - 1k is wayyyyy to much, I'd pay up to 300 but that'd be it, but then again I'm a cheap ass.

Sounds like a parts car to me. Everyone knows you can't find oem spoilers for these. The guy is dreaming. Sounds like the car needs a couple grand in work.

ya - I pretty much made up my mind I wouldn't buy it period for any price (if others want need parts and we get to an amount its worth buying it from him we'll try).

But ya - I got the last of any NX parts in this area when I fixed up my '93, I'd hate to go on a mission for a hood fender, bumper cover, bumper support and all that other jaz again.... not fun, and not cheap.....

Its a shame he beat the inside to hell too, *** the exterior (other than the wreck) is freakin awesome.

Just sold my 92 last week. 59,000 miles on it. I let it go to cheap
3200. I think the car was worth at least 4000. Did need some body work. I included the front spoiler and bumper cover off of my other 92. Motor should be out next weekend at the latest. Currently driving my modded Focus and looking for another SE-R or G20.

Chris just re read your post. I have the front clip,headlights passenger fender,perfect hood, good passenger seat and rear seat and the engine. Hmmmm

Ya I know - I saw all that too - but at a grand just to play the game (buy the car) then add all you want for those parts + shipping or me picking them up....

Now add getting the labor, I don't have a frame puller, and I can't weld in the new front radiator core support (which is $250 alone).

Add in a $500 motor after shipping, plus tune up parts and other crap and your at $650 pretty easy.

So:
$1000 for car
$650 for motor + tune up / fluids
$250 for radiator core support

Its a '91, has near 140k on it, he SAYS there is a newer tranny on it, but when I looked I didn't buy it, looked to me like it hasn't been touched, he also SAYS it only needs a water pump..... so anyways....

Edmunds says the car is worth like 2900 in perfect condition, I'd be at almost 2k just for the parts above - add in your parts, labor for body work and paint and I'd be in more than the car is worth....

I wouldn't mind doing all that if:
1 - I couldn't find another NX like that
2 - The car was a 5spd - no much of an auto se-r market

Soooooo anyways this would only be a deal if someone had a parts car AND could do body work..... The guy must not want to budge at all because he never called back....
