ever since I got my classic, the brake pedal feels sorta "gritty" when you press it down....... its hard to describe, but it just feels like its gritty, and makes a slight gritty sound too as the pedal is depressed..... also, the brake and gas pedal have about .25" of lateral movement, any way to aleviate this? the clutch pedal is solid from left to right.... i really havent looked closely, its probably simple......... thanks guys

I dunno about SE-R's in this respect, but when I was restoring the interior of my other car, I pulled the entire pedal assembly out of the car and discovered that both the brake and clutch pedal arms had about siezed to the cross-shafts -- it's a wonder I could drive the car at all.

Mind you, the car was over 30 years old at the time, YMMV. I finally got it all apart, polished the holes in the pedal arms with a little brake-cylinder hone, sanded everything else down (and painted the parts) and re-assembled with synthetic grease, figuring I'd forget to check the pedals for _another_ 30 years. Big difference.

I have that same problem with my 91, unfortunately I have no clue what the problem is. To me it feels like a grinding feeling and you can feel it in the brake pedal. If someone knows whats going on please post.
