I got the results back from my tranny guy, and guess what. Not ALL my fault I cracked it... He tould me the syncro's were beat to mush, a retainer pin was bent, and my clutchblew up. I dont know if all this is correct, I know nothing about trannys, do they have syncros and retainer pins? I saw the pieces. The little things, I guess the syncros were thrashed, and my clutch looked like the surface of some distant planet. Oh well, guess I needed to get new anyway. Please gimme some advice. I was thinking Level Ten. I hear they are the shit. Anyone care to help me?

i believe level ten is only for automatics. If you are willing to put up some big bucks you can get the jap spec tranny from Andreas Miko.

After you have you trans rebuilt.
Use the JWT (www.jimwolftechnology.com) H/D pressure plate and the clutch disc from the 2000 Sentra SE. That set up will hold all the bolt ons and a 50HP shot of NO2.

I'm using that set up with a lightened OE flywheel and the pedal effort is the same as stock.

Whats so special about the jap tranny? Is it one that comes from a GTi-R? Just wondering, any guess on how much?

wouldn't J-spec trannies be cheap like J-spec motors are? Depending on what kind of budget you are on, you may want to rebuild a tranny with cryogenically treated gears, as our trannies are pretty weak to begin with and you may want something stronger if you want it to last.

I don't know exactly what is so special about the J-spec trannies(for FWD applications), but I know they are not from a GTiR or BB because those trannies are for AWD applications.

the jap spec tranny has a beefier maxima gearbox (i think thats what model gearbox) and is much stronger. the "Disco Potato", AKA JWT's turbo car uses this tranny.

Actually it uses the internals from the JDM N-1 transmission.
