New(ish) se-r owner here. Picked up the ride pictured below back around Mar-Apr after totalling my last cage -- a 1985 BMW 535i.
Didn't start out looking for another 12-year-old Nissan, but the only new vehicle I've ever purchased was a "hardbody" truck back in '94, soo...
Anyway, love the car --but agree with my wife that the ride with the 16s is a little harsh for daily Chicago driving.
(It's also got a mismatched suspension set-up with Eibach Sportline springs (appx. 1.5-2" drop) and crappy Monromatic zero-damping struts, but that's another set of questions...)
I'm looking at 15"x6.5 to 7" wheels. I'd love a set of Panasport knock-offs, particularly the American Racing Silverstones (which look a lot more like the real thing than the Konigs).
But, the offset is listed as 42mm. Would 15"x7" wheels with 42mm offset and either 195/50 or 205/50 tires ever fit?
A number of online retailers that offer "shop-by-vehicle" searches say they'll fit. Heck, American Racing's own web site says they'll fit.
But I've seen a number of posts reporting rubbing, or near-miss clearance at 15x7/40mm.
While on that topic, lots of e-tailers also say 40mm offset is fine with 7" wide wheels. What up *** ***?
Looking to make a decision soon and get something on there. Currently running the stock wheels with a badly cupped and mismatched set of gawd-knows-what tires.
The Konigs (16"x7"/4x100) are for sale. They're either Divas or Elans; I've had Konig tell me both. I'd say they look most like Divas, except these have 10 spokes. They're wrapped with Kuhmo Ecsta SPT tires 205/40/16. One has a full 10/32 tread, the others measure 7/32. The wheels and tires both are in excellent condition, just a little too big for a domestic, shared-use vehicle. $400 takes em.
E-mail me if interested in the Konigs/Kuhmos (I have more pics) or if you have any fitment advice.
cheers,
Jeff
