WEll, just over the past 2 days, i noticed that my driver side front wheel was making a noise that sound like a squeaking kinda of noise that got more frequent the faster i went. If i put the brakes on, it would make a long screeching like noise and then stop. If i make a right turn, the sound goes away, but then comes back again in a few moments, then it goes away again. This happened to my friend nismoser's car too, but his finally went away. Does anyone know what the cause of this might be and the remedy? thanks in advance...

Do you need a new brake!? Is the metal from the pad touching/scraping on the rotor? Check those first. It might be something else but I would check those first.

Edit: What I meant was do you need a new pad.

Check the rod that conects both sides. They need lubed with the proper lube sometimes. Also, your pads might have tabs that contact the rotor that are meant to squeal when the brake pads get low. Have you taken your wheel off to look at these things?

90 percent of the time it's the pads.

84,000 on the OE pads??? You don't drive hard enough.

I'm betting they are worn out. Hope you haven't grooved the rotors.

you should resurface your rotors every time you change pads anyways

Look at your rotor. If it has DEEP cuts then you've grooved it. Depending on how bad the rotor is, you might be able to resurface it still. The auto shop can measure the thickness of your rotor and see if they can still shave it. If not you will need to buy a new one.

But if it is the original rotor it might be time for a new rotor as well.
