Well, I already had an HS warm air intake setup, I called them to buy just the other half, and they would not sell it, and told me to buy the whole thing. So I said "SCREW HOTSHOT" and I went to a local muffler shop and had them bend me an intake.

Well, by all means its nowhere near something of excellent quality, but it was only $25, so I have NOTHING to complain about. Here are some pics of the the pipe. I know the weld just stands out there, I will paint the whole thing later, but I want to put it on my car now :D

Sorry the pictures are all crap, the best I could do was a webcam. I will get some better pictures of it on the car.

Again, I know its not mandrel bent and fancy, but for $25 I can't go wrong.

I am off to put it on my car and see how it is. I will post the results of my butt dyno a little later :p

How big of a diameter is the pipe? It was just exhaust piping that they bent for you? Interesting idea....

Serban, you could also buy the entire Hotshot CAI, use what you need, and then sell the extra parts as a WAI on the classifieds.

exhaust pipe??? well i think im out to extend my pipe a little longer... since the filter doesnt sit to well on the wheelwell (sp)

Im thinking of extending it just a TAD further... but ill get pics and let you guys know what i did..

OK, I just put it on, and drove around for a while, and I have to say, it makes a difference. It is definately louder, and it pulls more at higher RPMs, even with the AC on, it is really nice.

The piping is 3" diameter, aluminzed exhaust piping. I can polish it up nice later on. It is crush bent so it did lose a little in diameter at the bends, but not much, overall, it looks good.

Jordan: yes, I could buy a whole HS cai, and sell what I dont need, but why spend $220+shipping for something that only cost me $25 to make. Then I'd have to deal with finding someone to buy it, then I have to ship it. And it will cost more too.

I'll try to get some pics of it today or tomorrow.

I hear you Serban. I'm in the same boat with you after I get mine. Glad you got yours hooked up. With some paint it will look nice man, and for $25.00 its hard to go wrong. :D

That is a nice looking custom CAI extension. I still have my WAI setup because its been raining down here. Maybe this summer **** put the mofo and get better breathing.

Good thinkin' to get a customized one than getttin' the whole thing...

especse_r, the muffler shop did a nice job for only $25. I really wanted to get it made yesterday, but if I could have waited a little, I would have gotten some nice mandrel bends, and get those welded together, it would look nicer, but cost more.

All in all, I am happy with it.

I wont be able to get pics of it for a few more days. Once I get them, I'll put them up.

Just imagine how much better it would be if it was a mandrel bend.. :D Just buy a 3inch U-bend and chop to fit. HS did all the hard work for you already.

True you can get a complete AEM CAI for $190 but for $25 dollars you can not go wrong. And I bet that the $25 CAI works just as well as the $190 CAI !

I already had the HS warm air setup. All I needed was the second half. I was not going to buy an entire CAI when I just need half of it...I hope that makes sense.

If I had all this money to spend, I would have bought the entire cai a long time ago. I'm a struggling college student here, try and understand. :)

tru, ill be in college soon with no job for quite awhile so i'll be goin economic style too. until i finally get my sis's 240sx hand me down for free. sell the sentra for eh 3-4k, do det swap in the 240 and build that beast.
