Since you're asking this in the turbo forum, I'm assuming you have a turbo. A lightened flywheel will help the turbo spool up faster, therefore creating boost faster. If you have a big turbo with a lot of lag, it will definetely help, however if you have a smaller turbo that creates boost early and are pushing quite a few horsies, a lightened flywheel could be very annoying and hard to keep the power to the ground. All you'll be doing is spinning tires like a madman!

It's your call!:D

Bah! Untrue! I have a DET w/ the stock T25 and I run both. I have the 2 set UR pullies and a Zex lightweight flywheel.

Ok, first gear is a little unusable if you floor it, but that's the deal with any turbo car. I've learned how to lauch this puppy so that I can half-throttle first with the tires scratching for traction and engage 2nd at about 6500rpms with a solid chirp and I am GONE.

I believe lightening rotating assemblies will help the turbo spool faster. I create boost by 2000 rpms. If you're debating which to do, I would do flywheel so you don't have to drop the tranny again (you ARE putting in a better clutch, right?). Pullies you can do later and they're relatively easy. I recommend them as you avoid the water pump cavitation at high rpms. You definitely want your cooling system in tip-top shape with turbo!

Good luck!

Let me (us) know how the electric water pump install goes. That was the Meziere unit, right? I was going to get that for my high compression NA motor but decided against it because of the limited life expectancy (2500 hrs) of the electric pump. My car is a daily driver and I'd wear out the pump in a year or two. I didn't want to have to replace a $200 electric water pump every year or two and also have to deal with the hassle of "getting to" the water pump and removing it.

Hopefully you knew of this fact.

I'm not sure what you mean by that statement? I meant that the electric water pump was around $200.
