: New B14 SE-R owner

I just picked up a '95 SE-R last night. It's got some (mostly minor) issues, but I like it so far. Runs very well and rides / handles great. Don't know much about the mods, it's running on hyperco / agx struts and spring, and has some sort of custom header-back exhaust, I don't even know the diameter. It's not too loud, there is a silencer in the muffler, and it's going to remain there ;) Other than that, appears it's pretty much stock. Got 138k on the clock. No real plans for it, I'm going to try and fix all the small annoying stuff that I can and maybe do some autox with it. Other than that it'll be used as means of transportation when it's not motorcycle weather ;) One of the nice things was the car came with a FSM, which is evidently no longer published, I was told to guard it with my life.

Onto the pics:

250r is also mine

I'm sure I'll be around looking for answers to my issues with the car, so far I've got some ideas for why the horn isn't working, which will need to be fixed before it gets inspected. There is also a crack and a chip in the windshield that probably won't pass PA inspection, so it looks like that may get replaced too. The aftermarket fogs/diving lights may get voted off the island, too.

LBC - I'm in Williamsport, PA (South Williamsport to be exact). I took the car out on one of my favorite roads last night, it handles freaking great. It's very tossable, lot's of grip even with the allseasons (Kumho ECSTA). Once all the small problems are taken care of I think I'm going to try my hand at autoX.

punk - I'm not sure why the fogs were replaced, maybe the lenses broke or something? It was the original owner who did so (I'm now the third owner, the second owner bought it how it is now, only replacing the tires more or less). Oh, and FSM - factory service manual

Nice b14, glad to see another PA owner on the boards. BTW, if you are looking for the stock b14 fogs, i have a set available for sale.

there is an autox in state college that I will be going in a couple of weeks. You should come and try it out if you get your problems fixed.

nssnskyline2 - is that the one at black moshannon? A few of my friends seem to run up there a lot.

Two of my friends have B14 SE-R, one (TheAnser) is a member here, not sure how active he is. The other friend is not a member here, but I've been trying to steer him here.

sr20jet - I'll keep that in mind, maybe I'll hit you up when I have some extra $$$. Right now I need to get it inspected.

Thanks for all the comments, as for now I'm going to my sister's house, my brother in law has a huge garage and lift. Time to see what the bottom of this thing looks like :)

cool...another PA B14!

I was at the Muncy Mall where they were running an autox event earlier this year I think.

I go visit family in Hughesville every other month. I'm down by the Philly airport, btw.

nice ride bro!

If it hasn't been done already, replace the motor mounts! My stock dogbone mount (the one by the radiator) was toast at 30k miles. I replaced 3 of the mounts with Energy Suspension mounts and left the stock passenger mount alone. I'd also recommend Whiteline control arm bushings (with the added caster) and the shifter bushing (best $15 you'll ever spend!).
