: Anyone running the JGY BB37R?

I'm replacing the setup on my B14 with something a little smaller so that the car actually has some power before 60 mph and I'm pretty set on buying the Full-Race prostock manifold and some t2 flanged turbo's but I've been looking around.

I wanted to run the 2871R beforehand, but I found the BB37R from JGY and for the price, it's a larger turbo flowing 11 more lbs. than the 2871 and would put my closer to my wanted power output than the 2871 without blowing my engine (stock 9.5:1 DE, will have ARP/Cometic this round)

Let me know what you think of the turbo and if anyone has comparisons between the 2871R, 28RS and BB37R let me know.

The Disco won't support 400whp unless I spray it, and I don't think my engine will like boost and nitrous :(

Here's what I was had before I parted out my setup. Buy a GT30R (or whatever GT30 series you like) without an exhaust housing. Buy a HKS GT30 exhaust housing(T2 footprint), you will need an external wastegate. Just my opinion...

the only thing bad about the bb37r is the internal wastegate.

I plan on removing the internal wastegate and making the turbo external wastegate compatable.

One of our guys has that turbo fitted and he reports it as fairly laggy, but somewhat improved now he's fitted a new manifold. I'll see if I can get him to comment.

Yes I have the JGYBB37R on my pulsar, I'm only running it at 1.4/1.5bar which is giving me 399.6 @ fly BHP on my standard 66000 mile engine.

Last time I had it on the rollers it was hitting peak power at 5500 RPM, With this turbo you tend to run out of first gear very quickly indeed :eek2: , And it can be very laggy if your in the wrong gear :( .

I fitted my new stainless manifold last week and it seemed to come on boost a lot quicker, unless this was just wishful thinking  , But My standard Nissan 8 time's used :eek2: manifold gasket has given up the ghost   .

So untill I fit my new 6 layer steel gasket I wont really be able to test it out on the rollers again ;) .
