So has anyone else had any problems w/ the PRI CAI install.
The kit was nice and complete w/ decent instructions, needed to add an inch or two to one vacuum line, that's it for additional parts (well zip ties of course). The BIG problem was that the holes in the tube adaptor (airbox side of MAF using the stock four screws) were a little too far in! Instead of cutting the hole by the battery i spent way too much time extending the holes in the MAF in to mate up to the adaptor. As a result i had to cut it short and ended up w/ a WAI. This put me at 1am and i had to be at AutoX school be 9am. NUTS. I checked my receipt, said i ordered the right part. Whats up?
BTW, i did have one more problem. I had pulled the plug wires cause i pulled the valve cover lookin fer clues to my clackin valvetrain. When i put everything back i switched wires for 2&4. OOPs, gave me a good scare when i first fired it up, would barely run. Stall if ya got off the gas. I heard a long time ago, "Runs bad? Almost allways the ignition."
Now, SOTP was the only performance gauge i had. Honestly i don't know, my butt dyno is a little off, maybe a little more to the top end? Really need to complete the install and put that filter out of the engine bay.
Also, i noticed that the stock airbox had a velocity stack, so does a JTW POP or a $tillen, so do i need to add that to the PRI unit as well to maximize the gains?
One thing is for sure, sounds 'bout the same at idle or pokin along w/ traffic, but LOVE the sound at WOT, 3000rpm and up. That alone is almost worth the price (at least the WAI portion).
I gotta open up my exhaust a bit. :p
