Nicely done, I look forward to more. A few comments:

1) Be careful, I think child labor laws prohibit 5-year-olds from working more than an hour straight.
2) Is there any way to have them host larger pictures to link by clicking on the smaller ones?
3) It's illegal to smuggle Guardado's in the trunk.

I'm 4 1/2 so no laws for meeee.

3) It's illegal to smuggle Guardado's in the trunk.

Everyone does it in-dash style anyways.

nice!
will you cut out the spare tire well to make room for the central tunnel?

what about the rear beam suspension? that thing is just sitting in the airflow which feeds the diffuser...can you aero profile that?

i dunno how turbulent the flow is under the car, but will turbulent flow entering the diffuser still give you downforce?

and finally, what about taking large metal sheets and flatbottoming the rest of the car? (i noticed the bottom of the engine bay was still open to the airstream.)

looks awesome i love following along with the buildup :)

We don't have to cut out the rear tire well to clear the diffuser. The beam axle is slightly lower than the diffuser intrance.

Sure its better to have a flat bottom but you have to consider cost and practicality. A flat bottom is expensive and prone to damage and makes the car harder to work on. Just these changes should make about 150/200 lbs of front downforce and about 300-200 in the rear with the rear wing at around 100 mph.

Mike,

I think you may need to fix some of your aero explanations. An airfoil at a positive angle of attack causes the air to have a higher velocity traveling over the top portion since it now has a longer path. The increased velocity results in a reduced pressure on the top surface. The pressure differential results in an upwards force (and drag). I'm not exactly sure how this applies to race car aerodynamics.

A postive angle of attack doesnt have as much to do with an airfoil creating downforce as much as the shape, at least generating it effeciently.

Mike,

Any chance of changing the format such that we can click on the pictures to get bigger versions?

^Agree with that request...otherwise I try to englarge them and they just get grainy due to the pixel size
