hopefully it's the gauge, the only way to tell is by how much you fill up
i believe you have the 13 gallon tank, so at 100 miles how much do you put in?

THE MOST I PUT IN IS 9 GALLONS JUST TRYING TO BE SAFE I put as much gas the car allows. i put so much one day i had it overflowing gas. maybe it is the guage what do i do?

It could also be the sending unit in the tank.

Why do you think it's the gauge? If everytime you fill-up you're putting 9 gallons in but only getting 100 miles that's about 11 miles to the gallon.... you might as well be driving an SUV or a full size truck.

First, you need to confirm your actual mileage. I've never heard of an SE-R getting as bad as 11 mpg. I've done track days and gotten better mileage. If your mileage is as bad as what I'm reading here then consider a tune-up (spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor) including a new O2 sensor.

Do you have any driveability problems in addition to the poor gas mileage? That would tell you a lot.

Lonewolf, I have the ga16de in my 93 sentra and I dont have the cat on now either but I didnt notice any drop in gas mileage whatsoever. If it has made a difference I dont see it, im getting 31 on hwy, and bout 22-24 city.

Regardless what the gauge says. Do you think you actually drive more than 100 miles?

first do you have any mods to the car if you do have a few that could be the reason. my nx2000 got 214miles on half a tank

On the B13's when the gas gauge says empty, you still have like 3-4 gallons left....so your gas gauge is reading correctly...

AS LONG AS I OWN THE CAR THE GAS GUAGE NEVER came on i ran out of gas once to see if it would it didn't and as far for the mileage be actual the only way i can check is to see with another car.

What do you mean the gas gauge never came on? You mean the fuel light? Maybe the bulb is burned out....

So both your gas gauge and odometer are not working?

If your fuel guage reads Empty (or close to it) with 100 miles on the trip-meter, and it takes 9 gallons to fill up your tank, then your fuel gauge is perfectly accurate. Remember, you only have a 13.2 gallon tank.

If that's indeed the case, there is something mechanically wrong with the car, not the gas guage.

Maybe I misunderstood what you said. If I did, I apologize.

Regardless, good luck with fixing whatever the problem turns out to be.
