I am putting my oil pan back on and was concidering using the Fel-Pro cork gasket instead of RTV. What is better, the gasket or RTV?

I always use a gasket for anything that they make a gasket for. If they don't make a gasket for it I use rtv. This is how I do it, other people might have a different opinion. Good Luck.

The factory uses RTV. Use RTV.

Use Permatex RTV grey. Also the orange works as well.

No flames, please.
Use Honda-bond! It is the absolute best sealant I've used. You must clean both mating surfaces. Remove all of the remnants of the old gasket material with a razor blade. Be sure to get into the grooves of the lower oil pan. Remove the rest of the residue with brake cleaner and keep wiping with shop towels until it is squeaky clean.
Put about an 1/8 inch of material on both surfaces being sure that you're doing it thoroughly, but quickly enough so that the Honda-bond isn't curing. Put both pans together, and tighten them in a star pattern to factory specs. Let it cure overnight and fill 'er up!

Trust me.

Per the Permatex catalog, the grey RTV is specially designed for high torque applications. While any would do, I'd use the grey.

I wouldn't use a Fel-Pro gasket. Yuck.
