i compared my stillen header to the hotshot gen 4 header. the damn primaries on the stillen are small compared to the hotshot. POS stillen products suck.

Has anyone done dyno tests on headers for our car?? If so what header produced the most power? How much do they go for new?

Sport Compact Car - December 1999

The Great Header Test - Part 2: SR20DE

Tested: AEBS, Pacesetter, S&S, Hotshot, STILLEN

Hotshot: Best of the test Peak Power (Tie w/ AEBS)
Hotshot: Best of the test Max Power Gain
Hotshot: Best of the test Max Torque Gain

The HS header tested was a Generation 3.

My Gen. 5 cost me $503.00 shipped direct from Hotshot in August of 2001.

Although the power gain is great, there were some manufacturing defects I had to deal with and the flex pipes Hotshot use are noisy as hell. Their customer service as of late has been horrible (search for a recent thread concerning Hotshot in the General Forum for more information).

Their web site is back online, however.

I don't know, I was pretty satisfied with my Stillen header and still am. I had no fitment problems at all and have had no leakage problems so far. I don't think that the power gain is that much less than the Hotshot and the torque gain is better at the lower end of the rev range.

Im satisfied with my Pacesetter no matter what the size.

I know 2 people with the same mods except one has Stillen Header , the other Pacesetter. Both dynoed at 146hp. BOOYA. Its all good.

You probably have the new 4-1, but my old 2nd gen 4-2-1 Stillen header is great.

I've had it on my Classic for 4 years, and it has never cracked or blown out its gaskets. Its smaller primaries make power down lower. Sure, I won't win any dyno shootouts with it, but it has powered me to a 14.6 @ 94 (faster than most Hotshot headered cars :)), so I'm not complaining. In fact, with ONLY a JWT POP and this header, my car did a 15.2 @ 90. Unstripped, on the factory tires.

There's no doubt Stillen stuff is ridiculously priced, but they do make quality products.

I completely agree.

I had the first 4-2-1 Stillen Header and they gave me a new flexpipe when my first one broke. Cool. When the chrome finish on my header burned completely off they sent me a newer 4-2-1 header (with the extremely enlargened exhaust ports). I kept the secondary of the old one. Sent back their new secondary. Cool. They did not charge me. My header is 5 years old and has not failed yet. I sent it out to get Jet Hot Coated and maybe next year I will get it done again. I was going to get the Gen5 HS header but the Stillen has held up thru all the horror HS stroies I heard.
So I have a 2nd Generation 4-2-1 with the flexpipe with the dent in it. (To clear the swaybar).

Stillen headers are small but the welds are great.

I have the AEBS header and performance wise it is fine. But, It is cracked and looks to be unrepairable. So, I am awaiting pricing and info on the Hotshot Stainless G5.

The welds on mine are very nice, the 4-1 merge collector is an awesome touch, and the flanges are nice and thick. I noticed a serious bump in top of the rev power. The price I paid was about the same as a Hotshot, but the Stillen was in stock at the time. I broke my stock manifold and needed a replacment ASAP. I have no regrets at all. It's a great piece. Now, Stillen's other products... :D
