Hey, who sells the best motor Oil? I have been using Mobile 1 for about 2 years now and have not had any problems with it, but I have heard that maybe Mobile 1 may not be the best Oil for your motor. What Motor Oils do you guys use and what are the pros and cons on Motor Oil.

I have and will always use the Mobil 1 and only.

ive used mobile 1 synthetic 5x-30 or royal purple 5w-30. $4.95 a quart is not cheap. no problems.

mobil 1 synthetic. royal purple is prolly pretty good, too. all others are crap, IMO.

If you need anything more than what Mobil 1 can give you, then you are doing some unbelieveably hard-ass driving.

the only other synthetic I'd consider would be Redline. If my SE-R were all-out race preped and I ran 3-5 hour endurance races, I'd put Redline in it. But at nearly 2X the price and limited places I can get it, I'm sticking with Mobil 1 for what I do. 22 track weekends, untold number of autocross runs and never any problem.

I like Mobil1, Castrol Syntec, Royal Purple, and Amsoil...not necessarily in that order. ;)

I run royal purple and used to run redline, the royal purple is a little better imho, and is cheaper too

Anybody see any problem switching to Mobil 1 in a SR20DE with 28k on the clock - all on dino oil?

I'm too cheap for synthetic. I run Castrol GTX dino oil. I did a little bit of research and it is one of the best non-synthetics out there.

Too tell you how good Mobil 1 is; my father was running his racecar on the track and spun out in the back straight away and he told me that the OIL, yes OIL!, tempeture pegged the needle at 6 o'clock and the gauge stopped at 230 or 260 degrees. So in other words it went way past it. The car fired right up and when he dropped the bottom of the pan when he got home...well all I can say is WOW!

The bearings looked brand new! No scuffs of wear marks on them. He cleaned the old oil off and put them back in. Not bad for a 355ci (roughly there of) V8 running 7k rpm's constantly with a 13.5:1 compression. :D

I use Amsoil in my 2000 Frontier w/ 77k on it and Mobil 1 in my Sentra w/ about 50k on it.

i've been running mobil 1 on my classic since i bought it with about 133K. dont' know what the previous owner ran, but to me, synthetic serves as a preventative measure. i'd like to be able to put another 100K on the car. =) bmw, i believe, runs castrol synthetic. i had a 328i as a daily driver for a couple of years, and never had a problem with it. since it was a leased car, i only changed the oil every 15K, as suggested in the owners manual. (i wasn't trying to be cheap or anything, but the scheduled maintenance was included with the lease/purchase, and changing the oil yourself would actually VOID the warranty!) anyways, i'm done babbling.
